Five more JE cases detected

Imphal, July 31 2016: With five more positive cases detected today, the total number of confirmed Japanese Encephalitis (JE) cases has reached 27 in the State.

Out of 26 samples tested today at JNIMS, five samples were found positive, informed a high ranking official of the Health Department.

Yet, people need not be panicky for the department has adequate stock of medicines needed for treatment of JE.

Ayush medicine Belladonna-200 which helps in preventing JE infection would be made available to public from Wednesday, informed the official.

Fogging exercises have been carried out at all the places where positive cases of JE have been detected.

The five people who were found positive for JE today belong to Heingang, Itham Nungoi, Kongba, Achanbigei and Ngairangbam.
