Pradhan distributes sanitary and grocery items

Thoubal, March 31 2020: To cope with the emergency arising out of the imposition of curfew in the State as part of a Nationwide lockdown in light of COVID-19 crisis, Pradhan of Wangjing Gram Panchayat, Tekcham Sumila distributed grocery and sanitary items such as cooking oil, salt, pulses and soaps to around 1500 households of the GP today.

During the charitable campaign, Pradhan Sumila urged everyone to follow the Government orders and respect the lockdown which aimed at tackling the spread of COVID-19 in the State.

She said that the campaign was aimed at encouraging people to avoid gathering and to remain safe at home.

She also expressed hope her contribution will help reduce people from venturing out during the lockdown to a certain extent.

While expressing gratitude to all the residents of the area for fully assisting the measures taken up by the Government, the Pradhan sought further support from all in defeating the disease.

Sanitization work was also carried out at various parts of the GP, reports our correspondent.
