JAC urges charge-sheet

Imphal, March 31 2016: The JAC Against the Killing of Laishram Chinglemba alias Naopa s/o L Gobin of Kwakeithel Moirang Purel Leikai held a meeting at the local community hall this afternoon and resolved to submit a representation to the Chief Minister, the Home Minister and DGP seeking prompt submission of charge- sheet against th accused and his accomplice, if there is any.

The JAC decided to pro- vide necessary support and cooperation to the investigat- ing authority (police) and also to boycott the accused and family socially.

Even as the JAC decided to seek any compensation, the meeting agreed to claim the body of Laishram Chinglemba alias Naopa after holding another round of meeting with the JAC, family members and relatives of the deceased.

While condemning the kill- ing in the strongest term, the JAC urged the Government to dismiss accused Laishram Birjit alias Chaoba from serv- ice after due enquiry.

Notably, Laishram Birjit alias Chaoba is said to be a Sub-Inspector of Manipur Police and he reportedly committed the crime in full uniform in broad daylight.
