Consultative meeting on strengthening Hunphun Village

Ukhrul, February 28 2018: The Hunphun/Ukhrul village Authority (VAs) organized a one day village level consultative meeting on strengthening and better coordination with all the social organization of Ukhrul town.

The meeting also evaluated the short fall and loopholes in the event management programme of the recently concluded Luira Phanit (seed sowing festival) of Hunphun/Ukhrul village.

Acting headman of Hunphun/Ukhrul village HA Haoreingam sought the collective opinion of the attending leaders from different localities and organizations.

During the meeting, it was proposed to constitute a committee to organize the festival in advance with the endorsement of the VA in order to promote the rich traditional culture and to attract more visitors.

In the consultative meeting, the Hunphun VAs announced to stringently ban air guns, fishing using chemicals within the village and further endorsed the All Hunphun Tangs Association to enforce the decision of the Hunphun Village authority for implementation.

The programme was attended by Councillors, VAs, locality chairmen and secretaries, HKL, HSL and well wishers at Rashing Hall Awungtang, Ukhrul.
