Imphal, December 31 2021: Media personnel were honoured in the annual 'Meet the Media Fraternity' programme organised by the Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) today in a simple function held at its office at Kwakeithel.

In today's programme, media persons of different media houses based in Imphal city were honoured and presented with a diary and pen each.

Speaking on the occasion, president of DESAM, Nameirakpam Edison wished all a prosperous and peaceful new year.

In connection with its annual programme, 'Meet the Media Fraternity', he said the programme has been organised to acknowledge the umpteen contributions of the media persons who play a major role in striving for a progressive society.

He also elaborated on the role of media persons who keeps the public updated about major events and other important societal issues in the interest of all.

Further he stressed on the importance of concerted efforts to rectify the wrongdoings in the system as well in the society.
