Governor, CM lead in extending New Year's wishes

Imphal, December 31 2018: Governor Dr Najma Heptulla has extended her heartiest greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of New Year.

"New Year to everyone is an occasion to rejoice and look forward to with new resolution.

On this occasion, let us all resolve to be a harbinger of peace and harmony in the State", read a message of Dr Najma.

The people of Manipur are no stranger to violent incidents in the past, which could have broken the close bond between different communities in the State, the Governor said and lauded the public for showing maturity by maintaining equanimity and shunning violence in such situation.

Dr Najma appealed all to observe the occasion in its true spirit so as to usher in an era of peace and prosperity in the State.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh too extended his best wishes to the people of Manipur on the occasion of New Year.

In his message, the Chief Minister urged the people to search and evolve new resolution for the coming year.

"May the New Year usher in peace, prosperity and happiness in the State, revitalise our energy and spirit of commitment toward achieving success in all endeavours for making Manipur one of the developed States in the country", N Biren said.

Works Minister Th Biswajit also wished the people of Manipur a happy and prosperous New Year.

The Minister prayed for a new era of growth and development in the State.

Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Letpao Haokip conveyed his heartiest greetings to the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of New Year.

May this New Year bring peace and harmonious relationship among different communities in the State for a better Manipur, the Minister said.

Social Welfare Minister Nemcha Kipgen also extended her warmest greetings and best wishes to all the people of Manipur on the occasion of New Year, 2019 .

"As we kick start this New Year, may all your dreams and wishes come true and may prosperity touch everyone with luck, joy, happiness and prosperity", said a message of the Minister.

Forest and Environment Minister Th Shyamkumar too conveyed his warm greetings to the people of the State for New Year.

The Minister prayed for positive changes in every sphere of life towards building a brighter future for every citizen.

CAF & PD Minister Karam Shyam also wished the people of Manipur a Happy New Year.

The Minister urged all to forget the past hatchets and begin a new journey for a peaceful and prosperous Manipur.

Major General KP Singh, YSM, Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) and all ranks of Assam Rifles also extended their warm greetings to the people of Manipur and wished everyone a very Happy New Year.

"May the Almighty bless us all with joy and happiness and guide us in our endeavours toward building a strong and prosperous Nation", read a message of 1GAR (S) .

Bharatiya Janata Party, Manipur Pradesh and All India Trinamool Congress, Manipur Pradesh too extended their greetings and warm wishes on the occasion of New Year.
