Employees to protest for 7th Pay

Enraged with the purported denial by the Chief Minister to give an appointment to talk about implementation of the 7th Pay, the Manipur Government Services Federation (MGSF) has decided to stage sit-in-protest on February 1 .
According to a press release issued by MGSF, they held a meeting with Chief Secretary RR Rashmi who is also the chairman of the fitment committee on January 25.Chief Secretary, MGSF has been seeking an appointment with the Chief Minister.
Representatives of MGSF went to meet the Chief Minister yesterday but the Secretary to the Chief Minister did not do anything to facilitate the much sought meeting.
MGSF sought an appointment with the Chief Minister repeatedly in consonance with N Biren's repeated appeals to come for dialogue before launching any kind of agitation.
As MGSF has been denied any chance of meeting the Chief Minister, employees would hold a protest demonstration at Keishampat Leimajam Leikai community hallon February 1 but it would not affect the Assembly session which commences from the next day, it conveyed.
