Foundation Day celebrated

Imphal, December 29 2024: The 45th Foundation Day of Youth Development Centre Club was celebrated at its premises in Keirao Bitra on December 26.Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, Keirao AC MLA and PDA Chairman, Lourembam Rameshwar expressed concern over the prevailing situation of the Meetei community who are not safe to travel freely across the State.

He asserted that due to the ongoing conflict and constant threat from armed militants, the Meeteis are unable to travel along the highways thereby leaving flight service as the lone option.

He continued that the air fares which are generally high have added to the sufferings of the people especially students and those seeking medical treatment outside the State.

Furthermore, Lourembam Rameshwar said that it is high time for all to come together to find ways to ease the suffering of the people and bring peace & development in Manipur.

Later, a painting competition and football exhibition match was held.

Moreover, the 6th Foundation Day of Arapti Urup Farmers Association (AUFA) was celebrated at Arapti Awang Leikai on December 25.It was attended by Bantee Singh Konthoujam, Joint Secretary, Social Welfare, Government of Manipur; Konthoujam Ibotombi, chairman, AUFA; Wahengbam Birachandra, Chairperson, Kiyamgei Muslim Arapti Gram Panchayat and Th Parijat, president, AUFA's Farmers Group as presidium members.
