Jiribam, October 29 2019: The All Jiribam Muslim Welfare Society (AJMWS), Jiribam staged sit-in protest today at Lalpani Bazaar, Jiribam against the 'presumptive' ill- effects of NSCN-IM peace talk with the Government of India (GOI).

During the protest, the protesters raised slogans "Long Live Manipur", "Integrity of Manipur cannot be compromised" and displayed various placards that read "Our State integrity is our top most priority", "Bring Solution Not Problem", "Don't break Manipur", "Give peace Not Piece" etc.

Speaking to media persons on the sideline of the protest staged, joint secretary of All Jiribam Muslim Welfare Society, Md Joynul Islam Barbhuiya said people have any objection in bringing a final solution to the Naga issue via the peace talk between Government of India and NSCN-IM, but "we will not tolerate if it affects even an inch of land in Manipur" .

"We the people of Manipur cherish diversity and want to live peacefully.

Our identity, integrity and culture should not be harmed or disintegrated," he said.

Further, he asserted that "we refute divide and rule policy of the Government" .
