AMMOCOC moots legal action

Imphal, December 27 2019: Claiming that some individuals with vested interests are spreading lies about the All Manipur Muslim Coordinating Committee (AMMOCOC), its president SM Jalal on Friday said that legal action will be taken up against such persons who are defaming the committee.

Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here, Jalal claimed that persons who are not members of AMMOCOC are giving/releasing press statements in the name of the committee.

Such actions of the vested interests persons have caused confusion among the people, he said cautioning that AMMOCOC has decided to take legal action against the persons concerned.

AMMOCOC is an apex body which is working for the welfare of Pangals in the State, he said urging all not to trust the claims made by non-members of the committee.

He informed that AMMOCOC had earlier informed the Editor's Guild Manipur to disregard all press releases and statements made without the authentic signature of its (AMMOCOC) president.

Further, he thanked Chief Minister N Biren, titular king Leishemba Sanajaoba, all organisations, academicians and persons who attended the international convention organised by AMMOCOC on December 21 and 22 .
