Imphal, October 27 2019:
Categorically demanding that any solution to the Naga peace talk should not touch the integrity of Manipur and all stake holders should be taken on board in the political dialogue going on between Government of India and NSCN-IM, specially when the dialogue has any
connection to Manipur, the All Manipur Muslim Organisations' Coordinating Committee (AMMOCOC) today called on Chief Minister N Biren and submitted an 8-point memorandum.
After coming out from the Chief Minister's office, AMMOCOC president SM Jalal conveyed Chief Minister N Biren's optimism that GoI would give an opportunity for consultation with the State Government and all other stake holders before a final solution is sealed.
GoI has been already apprised about the State Government's position on the Framework Agreement and any solution based on it, Jalal conveyed as stated by the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister also reportedly assured that the AMMOCOC's memorandum and their standpoint would be highlighted to the Central Government.
Biren further told the AMMOCOC representatives that there is no difference of opinion between him and the CSOs of the State on the issue of Naga peace talk.
GoI would take into account the apprehensions and collective will of the people of Manipur and it is unlikely that New Delhi would do anything which would hurt people's sentiment, Jalal conveyed as stated by Biren.
The memorandum pointed out that any Naga accord finalised without consulting different communities of Manipur would turn out to be a bogus accord.
AMMOCOC does not oppose settlement of the Naga issue provided the accord does not affect Manipur and other stake holders, Jalal added.
