Ukhrul councillor condemns officer's negligence

Ukhrul, October 27 2018: Councillor AS Yangmi from Chatric DCC, Ukhrul reacted strongly against one Assistant Engineer for failing to restore the road within the stipulated time.

The officer is the work supervisor of the ongoing road construction under PMGSY, from Chammu to Phungtha via Khayang village, reports our correspondent.

According to the Councillor, since one month back, he had personally approached the MSRRDA Engineer concerned to clear the debris and mud deposited, which has blocked the said road, as there would be an official tour programme of Ukhrul ADC team led by Chairman Dickson Kamkara to the areas from October 24, however, the UADC team could not continue their journey towards Kachouphung village.

They had to walk at least five kilometres on foot to reach Khayang village and the pathetic condition of the road had forced the whole team to stop at Khayang village.

The team could not fulfil the objective of its visit, he lamented.

Expressing serious concern with the negligence and ignorance of the officer, Yangmi conveyed that the matter will be taken to the higher authority to take necessary action against the officer.

It may be mentioned that the dilapidated condition of the inter village road has caused immense grievances to the people.
