Swachhta Hi Seva, Poshan Maah underway in CCpur

Over 100 kg plastic waste have been collected at the plastic collection centre set up by Autonomous District Council, Churachandpur as part of the ongoing Swachta Hi Seva � a mass cleanliness movement with a thematic focus on Plastic Waste Management.
According to TK Simte, CEO, ADC Churachandpur, over 100 kg of plastic waste have been received from six schools under ADCC so far.
A competition on collection of plastic wastes was also held today among the ADCC's schools.
The PHED officials and staff also conducted a Gram Sabha meeting today at Lajangphai village.
Different activities including social work at Government office campus are also planned while the Swachta Hi Seva Marathon was held on September 21.A tree plantation drive was held as part of Swachta Hi Seva under the auspices of Divisional Forest Officer, Churachandpur on September 23 at One-Stop Centre located at Headquarters Veng wherein DC Pawan Yadav; S Khaikhopau Ngaihte, AC to DC; Dr Vumchinpau Tonsing, CMO and Dr Jam Thianlal, DFWO planted tree saplings.
Meanwhile, the multi-departmental convergence mission, Poshan Maah (Nutrition month) observance which was launched in Churachandpur on September 2 made a significant progress as different departments took the holistic nutrition campaign to interior areas.
Workshop on Anemia, Poshan Mela, nutrition awareness campaign, Poshan rally, CBE at AWC, daily home visit, ECCE, cleanliness drive, VHSND, awareness campaign on nutrition from locally available fruit and vegetable, growth monitoring, school-based activities like painting and quiz competition, demonstration on hand washing technique and community meeting on Poshan Maah are the activities taken up so far on daily basis at different places of the district.
Staff and employees of Women and Child development Department, Health and Family Welfare Department, School and Education Department, AYUSH, Agriculture, PHED, NERCORMP etc have been activated for the campaign.
Apart from the demonstration on hand washing to children of various schools within the district, Swachhta pledges were also administered to them as a part of the campaign.
CMO and ZEO jointly organised personal hygiene awareness for adolescent girls at Rengkai Government Higher Secondary School while hand washing demonstration and Swachhta Pledge was administered today at Sangaikot, Kumbipukhri HS, Misao Lhahvom, GM High School, Saipum Jr HS, Tuining HS, Hiangdung Govt aided School, LFS Bungmual, Saviour Public School, Thangkai Govt HS, Convention School, Mata, SSA Residential School, Vimala Raina HS, Phungkhothang HS, Thingchom UP School, Singngat Standard HS, Kaikho-En Academy, Sagang Hr Sec School, Churachandpur Higher Secondary School, etc.
The campaign will culminate on September 30 .
