Assam Rifles conducts security meet cum community service

Thoubal and Mantripukhri Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (S) organised a security meet and community service today with an aim to sensitise the people about the existing security situation in the area as well as interact with the locals.
As part of the security meet conducted by Thoubal Battalion at Thoubal COB, locals were updated on current situation existing in the area of responsibility, said a statement of EGAR (S).
An interaction session was carried out on necessary measures required to be undertaken for maintaining a strict vigil against illicit activities in the area, future action plan in respect of civic action projects, recruitment in Assam Rifles and Indian Army and career counselling for youth.
The attendees were also sensitised regarding the increase in snake bite cases during summer and the help that Assam Rifles can provide.
The security forum was attended by Meira Paibis, ward Councillors along with representatives of local youth clubs.
Meanwhile, YKPI COB of Mantripukhri Battalion organised a community service cum interaction at Baptist Church in Molhoiphai village.
The interaction was aimed to familiarise and orient troops of the COB with the locals as well as identify with their customs and traditions.
The event commenced with offering of prayers followed by an interaction with the villagers.
The interaction proved to be of immense significance as over 75 villagers willingly shared their various issues of concern.
The villagers expressed their gratitude towards Assam Rifles for connecting with them and extending their support to them.
