Imphal, September 24 2017: Khurai Kendra Development Committee, Khurai Sajor Leikai Tinsid Road organised reopening ceremony of Pong Lambi at Kongpal Kongkham Leikai JNIMS Gate No 3 today.

Khurai MLA L Susindro who is also the Parliamentary Secretary (Home) and JNIMS Director Th Bhimo were present at the ceremony .

Speaking on the occasion, Susindro said that Pong Lambi was closed following construction works of JNIMS and rhis prompted the locals to stage different forms of protest .

He admitted that closure of the road had caused immense inconveniences to the people mainly those who come for treatment at JNIMS .

Saying that the road acts as an important route for people coming to JNIMS, he appealed to the locals and JNIMS authority to share a cordial relationship which is necessary .

In his speech, Th Bhimo said that the road was closed in 2010 in the aftermath of the inspection of the hospital by a team of MCI .

He said that the road has been reopened from today as per the instruction of the Chief Minister and Health Minister in view of the hardship encountered by the locals.
