Lockdown: Councillors of ADC Sadar Hills lend hands

Councillors of ADC Sadar Hills continued helping people in their respective Constituencies by providing essential commodities in Kangpokpi District.
Lunthang Haokip, Member ADC Sadar Hills from 10-Gamnom Saparmeina District Council Constituency distributed 5 kgs of rice, salt and potato to over 400 less fortunate people from his Constituency.
The distribution was conducted at the Saparmeina residence of the Councillor.
Speaking to media persons, Lunthang Haokip, Member ADC Sadar Hills said that the rice was distributed to more than 400 identified less fortunate people by the concerned village chiefs under 10-Gamnom Saparmeina District Council Constituency.
He continued that the Government efforts under the leadership of Chief Minister N Biren Singh in combating the deadly pandemic COVID-19 in the State is laudable.
He also lauded the frontline workers for their tireless service.
Till now District Councils in the hill districts of the State, despite being a self-government, is yet to be entrusted or assigned any responsibility in connection with combating the pandemic COVID-19 but we have been doing our best in helping the district administration in combating the deadly COVID-19, Lunthang Haokip lamented.
We could deposit and procure Government rice at a subsidized rate, however, the rice we obtained is very high in price and distribute to the people considering their plights and grievances, the Councillor said and appealed to the Chief Minister to allow District Council to deposit and procure Government rice as the concerned MLAs, Ministers and the District Administration do under Open Market Sales Scheme.
Meanwhile, the local MDC of Irang Part-II, BP Vikas Basnet who is the Executive Member of ADC Sadar Hills reached out to all the villages under his Constituency with rice and other essential commodities since a few days back and today he delivered essential commodities including rice at Maohing village.
He said that everyone within Irang Part-II Constituency will also get 5 kgs of rice and other essential items.
