Golden jubilee celebration of Chavan Kumhrin held at Lambung village

Chandel, October 23 2019: Lambung Baptist Church has organised the golden jubilee celebration of Chavan Kumhrin, a harvesting festival of Anal tribe, under the theme "The Lord bless and increase the harvest of rightness", at Lambung Village, here, today.

As part of the festival, a memorial stone for the golden jubilee was unveiled in the morning session, after which Pastor of Lambung Baptist Church, Sng Nelson spread the message of God to the gathering.

During the evening session, several artistes and local youth presented cultural songs and dances for the audience.

At the event, chief of Lambung Village, Daryal Alam said that the Anal folks, in the past, celebrated the festival with their families or relatives but with the advent of Christianity, the Anals began to celebrate 'Chavan Kumhrin' with the public for good harvest, prosperity and good health since 1970.Deputy Commissioner Chandel, Krishna Kumar; Autonomous District Council Chandel, Member, Ts Willingson; AC to DC Chandel, N Shokhongam Baite; Aspirational District Programme-UNDP, Consultant, Devangana; ANTA Chandel, president, Sng Phamhring; Japhou Bazaar Board Chandel, chairman, HL Lordson; special contractor HL Lovingson; UNC, speaker, Ws Kanral Anal; Chandel Bar Association, president, Rt Rebirthson; Anal Sinnu Ruwl, president NL Zomhlung and chiefs of several Anal Village also took part in the celebration among others.

A grand feast was also prepared for all.
