Road maintenance to begin soon: CM

Imphal, July 23 2024: Chief Minister N Biren has said that the maintenance work of Kongba to Keirao road along Imphal-Yairipok stretch will begin shortly.

He made the statement while appealing to all who are blocking the Kongba to Keirao road to withdraw their agitation.

Inaugurating a tree plantation campaign held under the theme "Imagee Mingda U Ama Tharasi" at Lamlai Chingpu Sabi Lairembi Ching, the Chief Minister continued that the Government has allocated money to begin the repair work of the road stretch.

Saying that a process is underway to issue a work order to the contractor concerned, he appealed to all who blocked the road to withdraw their agitation.

Meanwhile, N Biren said that planting a tree in honor of 'our mothers' symbolizes nurturing and protection.

He also said that the Government aims to plant 50 lakh saplings, with 30 lakh to be planted by the end of September 2024 .

"Let's all take a pledge to work together for a greener and more sustainable Manipur," he appealed.
