Imphal, January 23 2024:
All Manipur VDF Employees Welfare Association (AMVDFEWA) has appealed to the State Government to deploy more VDF personnel in Red Zones in an effort to end the conflict.
A statement issued by Y Iboyaima Singh, publicity secretary, AMVDFEWA, has said that VDFs are ready to stand up for the people of Manipur just as they have been maintaining law and order and performing their duty for the last 14 years.
Sharing that many VDFs have also taken a vital role in safeguarding the people in the conflict and sacrificed their lives in the process, the statement added that 10,050 VDFs are prepared to lay down their lives for the motherland.
AMVDFEWA has urged the State Government to induct all 10,050 VDFs in the efforts to end the 8 month old conflict.
More specifically, the Association has appealed to the State Government to deploy additional VDF personnel in areas declared as 'Red Zones' on top of those already stationed.
Making an earnest appeal to allow the VDFs to offer their assistance in ending the conflict, AMVDFEWA has urged the Government to assign more duties to the VDFs.
