IGMSY launched at Tamenglong

Imphal, November 22 2011: Indira Gandhi Matritva Sahyog Yojana (IGMSY) Scheme was launched alongwith a medical health camp cum awareness programme at Indoor Stadium, Tamenglong district headquarters.

A release issued by president of Indigenous Women and Children Foundation Tamenglong (IWCF) said that IGMSY is a centrally sponsored scheme being implemented on priority basis in 52 districts of the country, out of which Tamenglong is the only district in Manipur.

It is informed that in Manipur, the scheme is implemented by the Social Welfare Department in collaboration with Medical Department.

The ceremony was jointly organised by Child Welfare Committee of Tamenglong and Zeliangrong Students' Union, added the statement.
