17 test positive in Ukhrul

Adding to the rising positivity rate in the district, 17 persons including five staffers of DC office on Tuesday tested positive for Covid-19 .
According to the district surveillance office, the cumulative number of active cases in the district has reached 151, following the latest detection.
It said that test results of the five DC office staffers were found positive on contact tracing and another three cases were detected in Hamleikhong on contact tracing.
However, none of the results of 31 persons who came under contact tracing, returned positive in Phungreitang West, it said.
Of the 17, six were detected from the screening centre at Town Hall, Phungreitang and one at the district hospital.
Two cases emerged out of 48 tested during mass screening at Viewland Zone I and II, the DSO source said.
The cumulative positive tally currently stands at 617, while the cumulative number of deaths is 21, it said.
A total of 29 patients who were found negative on re-testing have been discharged on Tuesday.
Among the active cases, included 88 being lodged at ITI Community Isolation Centre, 39 at Transit Camp, 12 at Ukhrul Higher Secondary School CIC, three at Jessami CIC and one at Litan CIC.
So far, 16 patients have been referred out of the district, it added.
