Imphal, February 22 2017: Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal East has directed Officer-in-Charge of Porompat police station to investigate a case filed in the Court by general secretary of Khurai Block Congress Committee.

According to the prayer of the police, general secretary of Khurai Block Congress Committee, Leishemba Thongam reported to SP Imphal East alleging that Daily Kangleipak Update, a Facebook page group accused sitting MLA and INC candidate of Khurai Assembly Constituency Dr Ng Bijoy of instigating to arrest few workers of BJP of the Constituency on February 15 .

It stated that the allegation is false and baseless and that it amounts to criminal defamation and violation of election model code of conduct.

It also stated that the matter was enquired vide general diary case number 7 Porompat police station and sufficient evidence was established under Section 505/500/34 IPC and 123 (3A) RP Act which is non-cognizable.

It pleaded the CJM Court to register a regular case against the unknown person and investigate the same for justice.

Registering the prayer as cril misc case, the Court perused the application of the OC and the report of the complainant.

The Court ruled that further investigation is highly required and directed the OC to investigate the case on the basis of the complaint.
