Thoubal, November 21 2019:
Raising suspicion over the death of Leishangthem Ongbi Bidyarani Devi (23), mother of a two year old boy, at Thoubal Leishangthem Wangmataba on the intervening night of November 18 and 19, the JAC formed in connection with the death has said that it will not claim the body at JNIMS until resolutions are taken by a public meeting which will be held on November 23 at Ningombam Sana Keithel.
The 23-year-old wife of Sanayaima alias Temba (33) was found hung to death.
Sanayaima was remanded to police custody for seven days yesterday.

Next hearing of the case is on Nov 25 .
The JAC against suspicious death of Okram Ningol Leishangthem Ongbi Bidyarani Devi, in a statement issued by its convenor Irom Shubashini Devi today, alleged that on Nov 18-19 midnight, the husband's family told the paternal family that their daughter was taken to Thoubal District Hospital due to a severe illness.
When the paternal family members reached the hospital, they were told by a doctor that their daughter arrived at the hospital dead and had been taken to JNIMS for postmortem.
It further alleged that the room where she allegedly hung herself, as claimed by the husband's family, was locked from inside and the husband was found inside with the corpse when locals break down the door.
"The presence of the husband inside the room points toward possible foul play," said the JAC.
Moreover, almost all of the family members including the husband were in 'hiding' and when the paternal family members reached the husband's place, police were found guarding the house, added the JAC.
Questioning why the husband's family kept the news from the paternal family, if she actually did hung herself to death, the JAC urged authorities concerned to conduct thorough investigation of the case.
The JAC is organising a public meeting on Nov 23 at Ningombam Sana Keithel in connection with the case to decide future course of action for justice, it said urging all CSOs and women groups to attend.
The meeting's decision will be final and the body of Bidyarani should not be handed over to any party until decisions are taken, added the JAC.
Meanwhile, locals blocked the road near Thoubal Ningombam Luxmi Bazar today and demanded stringent punishment to all those involved in the case at the earliest.
