Workshop on development of low cost teaching aids kicks off

With the aim to enhance the teaching system in the State Government elementary schools, a five days workshop on "Development of Low Cost Teaching Aids for Elementary Level" began today at the Multipurpose Hall of SCERT, Lamphelpat.
The inaugural function of the workshop, which organized by the Directorate of SCERT, was attended by SCERT DDO Professor A Romel Singh and Administrative Officer Th Maniratan as the presidium members.
Speaking to the media, Professor Romel conveyed that 50 Government elementary school teachers from ZEO Zone I and II are participating in the workshop which will conclude on April 25 .
He further informed that the workshop emphasizes on producing teaching methods for making children of lower classes more understandable and friendly through the usage of available local resources like cartoon box and paper.
Romel added that SCERT, Manipur has been organizing workshops and training programmes for various levels of teachers from time to time as part of its continuous effort to improve the education system in the State.
Senior DIET lecturers, A Aruna Devi and A Sobita Devi also attended the function as the resource persons.
