Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) has urged the State Government to dismiss and award befitting punishment to a VDF personnel who allegedly called out a 20 year girl from a Thabal Chongba venue and
raped her.
A team led by BJYM State president O Malesh today went to Wangoo Laipham Awang Leikai and visited the victim at her home.
According to the victim, Loitongbam Krishnakumar took her hand and led her away from a Thabal Chongba venue at around 10.30 pm of March 17 on the pretext of talking about something.
L Krishnakumar who is currently in police custody then allegedly raped the girl at an isolated place.
One woman activist of the locality lamented that there were very few reports about punishment of people found guilty for rape and/or murder.
She expressed strong desire for the law enforcing agencies to award befitting punishment to the accused.
While strongly condemning the alleged rape, Malesh said that the party would urge police department to punish the accused according to law at the earliest.
