Imphal, September 19 2018:
Reformist Students' Front (RSF) has demanded the authority concerned to bring about an immediate solution to the academic chaos at Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Takyelpat at the earliest.
Speaking to media persons at RSF office Khagempalli Nganappi Thong today, its secretary general Amarjit Ningthouja said that RSF is deeply concerned with the issue and demanded the Joint Director (Training), Principal of ITI, Supervisor and Instructor T Bolen to clarify regarding the issues plaguing the institute within September 21.Threatening to launch intense agitation if the demands of the RSF are not fulfilled, Amarjit warned that the authority concerned will have to bear responsibility for any unwanted which might occur.
On the other hand, All Manipur ITI Students Union (AMISU) secretary internal affairs Md Nasir Khan said that the institute has been experiencing such lack lustre academic atmosphere for quite some time.
Most of the teachers and staff are not punctual, class routines are not followed properly, machines and tools of the institute are not maintained and most off the supervisors are not performing their duties, he alleged and added that over and above this, stipends are not provided regularly and it has been a long time since any study tour or related programmes were organised for the institute.
He further alleged that a Stenography instructor gave home works through WhatsApp and often keeps talking on the phone (through the phone's loudspeakers) inside the classroom instead of taking class.
All these issues have been presented before the Education Minister but to no avail, Nasir claimed.
