Willong Circle Sports Meet concludes at Pumdumlong

Senapati, December 18 2021: The week long sports meet of Willong Circle Youth & Students Organization (WCYSO) concluded at Pumdumlong village under Willong Sub-Division.

The valedictory programme was attended by Regina Hongray, Deputy Secretary (Finance/Works); Koshoni Phimu, Under Secretary (GAD/MI/MA); Rang David, SDO Phungyar; and Kangbing John, social worker as presidium members.

Speaking on the occasion, Angamla Regina Hongray called for Women empowerment in every field especially in education, social work and sports.

"Change will come when our daughters and sisters are given priority in the education facilities", she asserted.

Koshoni Phimu urged the people to promote women's leadership in every field including politics and social organizations while adding that women throughout history have been taking part in movements and revolutions like men.

Rang David called for unity during these crucial times and stated that sports is an opportunity to come together and meet each other.

"Sports is not only a platform to showcase our talents but to demonstrate leadership and discipline", he added.

The Sports Meet concluded with an intense football match between champion contenders Kapyiilamei and Willong Khunou teams in which the former won by 1-0 goal.

Rajaimei village boys were crowned the volleyball men's champion while Abung club won the women's volleyball.

ADC member, Rangpung John; CSOs leaders, Northern Maram Youths, Willong circle leaders, Village leaders, Women and youth leaders from all villages also attended the event.
