Legal awareness camp held

Jiribam (Imphal East), September 18 2015 : Okeshwor Homeshor Trust (OKHO) in association with Elangbam Tondonbi Singh Memorial Charitable Trust and CWA, Jiribam conducted a one-day legal awareness camp at Jiribam Gourachand High School on Thursday, Jiribam News Network (JNN) reports.

The awareness camp was sponsored by the Manipur State Legal Services Authority, Imphal.

Judicial Magistrate, 1st class, Jiribam, Lamkholal Kipgen; CWA chief functionary, S Iboton Singh; GC High School Headmaster K Shyamkishor Singh; ET Memorial Charitable Trust general secretary W Amusana Devi; OKHO Trust executive director Th Ngouba Singh and Jiribam Higher Secondary School Lecturer H Rajenkumar presided over the camp as chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.

Resource persons advocate KB Roy and I Inaobi Devi spoke on 'Food Security Act and Public Distribution System' and 'Violence Against Women and Right to Information Act' .

Similar camps will also be held at Jiribam Sorok Atingbi High School, Chingdong Leikai Junior High School and Hilghat Maning Leikai community hall to increase awareness amongst Jiribam locals, JNN reports.
