Training on plant protection held

Noney, July 18 2022:
A one day training programme on plant protection and farm bio-inputs preparation for members of Dilung Farmer Producer Company under Mision Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER) Phase-III was held on Monday at Longmai Part-IV community hall in Noney district headquarters.
The programme was organised by Diocesan Social Service Society (DSSS) under the sponsorship of Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA) .
KVK/Tamenglong SMS (Horticulture) RK Roshan, spoke as a resource person on the topic of organic crops management of ginger, turmeric and king chillies and
its plant protection measures.
A demonstration class for the farmers on farm bio-inputs preparation was also conducted by the resource person.
DSSS field (organic) inspector Romila Phaomei also spoke on the management of the Farmer Producer Company while DSSS staffer Martina Phaomei, field inspector Guangjuanliu Gonmei, Dilung Farmer Producer Company CEO Henry Dangmei and Dilung Farmer Producer Company chairman Wilson Kamei shared their knowledge and encouraged the farmers.
Talking to media persons, Romila Phaomei informed that under Dilung Farmer Producer Company, Noney there are 10 clusters and 15 Farmer Interest Groups (FIG) consisting of 301 beneficiaries.
In Noney district alone, there are 1300 beneficiaries and 4 Farmers Producer Companies.
The main objective of forming FPC is to promote and encourage plantation of more indigenous crops and produce maximum organic products for sale in other states of the country and export abroad.
It also aims to enhance economic sustainability and livelihood to rural farmers, she added while appealing to the farmers to be a progressive farmer and to possess the spirit of true entrepreneurship.
