IFM submits memorandum to CM

The Irabot Foundation, Manipur (IFM) has submitted a 10-point memorandum to Chief Minister N Biren to redress the grievances of farmers and entrepreneurs brought by the lockdown.
In the memorandum, IFM urged the Chief Minister to form a high-level committee and assess the financial loss and the shrinkage of the State economy due to COVID-19 pandemic; encourage Self Help Groups to make face masks, soaps to boost their economy and initiate a project to ensure sufficient water for irrigation.
The memorandum was submitted after the IFM convened a webinar with different farmers and self-employed individuals.
The foundation also urged the Chief Minister to dig up ponds in strategic locations, clean rivers and lakes and release dam water on time for agricultural activities; provide seeds at free of cost and make agricultural machinery available without difficulty; set up fast-track irrigation committee for Agri and allied sectors; release pending funds for 2017 flood and 2019 drought; exempt fee for every school, college, universities and institutions during lockdown period and give a special economy package to all section.
