Passing out parade of Manipur People's Defence Force held

The passing out parade for 101th Battalion of Manipur People's Defence Force (MPDF) was held at Icham Khunou Public Ground in Thoubal district yesterday.
The Manipur People's Defence Force was formed with the primary aim of defending one's land and the State as a whole.
The passing out parade ceremony was graced by Indigenous People's Organisation Manipur (IPOM) General Secretary Rakesh Moirangthem; Pambei led UNLF Organisation Secretary Nongthon; General Staff Officer-I (Militia) Ch Chingachal and Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS) General Secretary Angom Punilkumar as the presidium members.
The event was also attended by leaders of prominent civil society organizations (CSOs), meira paibi leaders and the public of the area.
The dignitaries while speaking at the occasion appealed to the MPDF members to deliver their duties diligently in a disciplined manner and serve the people with dedication for the cause of the Motherland.
It is worth noting that the Manipur People's Defence Force was formed on February 27 this year and the members started their training at Icham Khunou Public Ground from the next day.
The newly trained members including women cadres and youths of the area took pledge to safeguard the State and its people during the ceremony.
