Frequent network failure irks Moreh, August 17 2020:
Annoyed by the frequent mobile network failure in Moreh town, Moreh Consumer Club led by its president T Seiboi Haokip today conducted a drive to check the mobile towers in the area.
Speaking on the sideline during the drive, T Seiboi Haokip said the mobile network provided by all the service providers namely BSNL, Airtel and Reliance Jio in Moreh areas is really bad and it is there only for namesake.
BSNL network works one fine day and stops working for another five days while Airtel and Reliance Jio networks work only in Moreh market areas, he said.
As the mobile network of India does not work, most people have started buying Myanmar sim cards for their cell phones, which is quite embarrassing, he said.
The Myanmar network covers every corner of Moreh town where the India networks have failed, he said.
Due to the pandemic, students nowadays rely on mobile internet for their studies and also filling out job applications, college forms fill out everything nowadays are all done online, he said.
Sometimes even banks in Moreh close due to network failure, he said.
During the drive today BSNL network was still not working and there was only one staff at their office, he said.
He demanded the authorities concerned to look into the matter at the earliest.
MCC has also warned of action if BSNL, Airtel and Reliance Jio fail to provide proper service to the people of Moreh town in five days time.
