11th children folk dance festival celebrated at Jiribam

Jiribam, March 17 2019: The 11th Children Folk Dance Festival organized by Inunganbi Manipuri Dance Academy, Jiribam was celebrated at Echel Club, Dibong, Jiribam District.

The programme was attended by RK Nobinsana Singh, pradhan Dibong GP, Jiribam and A Biren Singh, ex-minister, Manipur as chief guest and president respectively.

The dance festival programme began with the lighting of ceremonial lamp by the chief guest.

About 40 children from Jiribam including one participant from Cachar took part in the festival.

Speaking at the occasion, chief guest RK Nobinsana appreciated Inunganbi Dance Academy, Jiribam for organizing such folk dance festival every year which in a way educate the new generations about the importance of learning cultural songs and traditional dances of Manipur.

He said that organizing such event will immensely help in promoting and preserving the folk dance of Manipur which is vanishing day by day in this modern world.

Functional president said that he felt proud of Inunganbi Dance Academy, Jiribam for hosting such event every year to preserve and promote folk dance of Manipur and urged the public to extend support to make the dance academy even more better.
