Kairembikhok residents stage sit-in against unbearable monetary demands

Aggrieved over the imposition of unbearable monetary demands served by various organisations to the daily wage earners of the area, residents of Kairembikhok staged a sit-in protest at Kairembikhok Lamkhai waiting shed today.
Condemning the unbearable monetary demands levied by various organisations, Laishram Sunibala, a meira paibi leader and Thangjam Brajakishore, member of Furniture Association stated that the people of the State are going through a tough phase owing to ongoing conflict.
Amid such woes, the monetary demands made by some organisations to the daily wage earners is unfortunate and condemned at the strongest term, added Sunibala and Brajakishore.
Stating that most of the villagers in the area are living in poverty due to poor resources in the area, the protesters stated that the monetary demands have added more woes to the already suffering people.
Highlighting that they all have been extending the best possible support they could since the beginning of the conflict in the State despite their hardships and struggle for their livelihood due to various calamities that occur in the State including the Covid 19.In view of the plight of the daily wage earners, the protesters appealed to all concerned to refrain from imposing monetary demands on them.
During the sit-in protest, the protesters hold placards which read, "Stop imposing unbearable monetary demands," "Stop intimidating residents of Kairembikhok", "Be satisfied with what people have extended since the beginning of the conflict" .
