Imphal, November 15 2015: The Coaches Association of Youth Affairs and Sports Manipur (CAYASM) has condemned the alleged detention of fencer Kangabam Brandon (25) .

Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here this afternoon, CAYASM general secretary H Hemjit Meitei said that detention of international level like Brandon was an insult to the entire sports fraternity.

Brandon of Wangkhei Yonglan Leirak was returning home together with his father Jadumani from their Charangpat brick firm when they were intercepted and Brandon was abducted by some persons who wielded AK-47 rifle on November 8 .

Brandon was handed over to police by a team of 12 Bihar Regiment the same night.

It evokes a serious question if the particular team of 12 Bihar Regiment had any clandestine link with the abductors, Hemjit said.

He also urged the concerned authorities to book and punish all those individuals involved in the abduction at the earliest.
