Imphal, November 15 2010: The temple president of ISKCON Manipur Ajit Das, who has been fasting, has been taken into custody by the police.Along with some Bhaktas, Ajit Das has launched a fast unto death agitation since Friday last demanding resignation of the GBC member Gopal Krishna Goswami.

Gopal Krishna Goswami has charged Ajit Das with misuse of temple fund.

But Ajit Das and his followers have refuted the charges as baseless.

Singjamei police picked up Ajit Das from his protest site yesterday and he was produced before a court today.

The court has subsequently remanded Ajit Das to police custody for another 15 days.

Meanwhile, in protest against the arrest of Ajit Das by the police, students of Bhaktavedanta Institute Mission Higher Secondary School, Sangaiprou staged a Wakat Meepham in front of their school gate today.

Students used placards inscribed with slogans like 'We want progress', 'Mob justice can't control the spiritual organisation', 'We want love', etc were used during the protest demonstration.
