The All Manipur Students' Union will observe the 49th Hunger Marcher's Day on August 27 .
Speaking to reporters in AMSU headquarters in DM College, Laishram Rigan, General Secretary, AMSU, asserted that preparation to successfully observe the Hunger Marcher's Day has begun and soon will also launch a donation campaign.
He added that the Union will effectively start using a new receipt which has a counter call in it.
Therefore, he said that individual must contact the AMSU Headquarter immediately in case any person seeks donation by using the old invalid receipt book.
Soibam Anil, Secretary Finance, AMSU, said floral tribute will be paid in Pisum Chinga to mark the Hunger Marcher's Day and then rally till DM College campus which will be followed by a mass meeting.
Speaking on the rise of garbage in Pisum Chinga Macha where floral tribute was paid every year on the Hunger Marcher's Day, he appealed the people to discontinue the dumping of garbages.
Adding that the place has also become a famous spot for youngster involved in intoxication drugs, he warned the youngster involved of aggressive actions against them if such incident recur.
Inviting the people to attend the Hunger Marcher's day, AMSU appealed the authority concerned to provide an efficient security on the said day.
The Union also urged the public or any organisation not to call any strike or bandh on the said day.
