Science Meet concludes

Curtain of the Science Meet held from May 11 under the aegis of Manipur Sciences and Technology Council (MASTEC) at Lamyanba Shanglen was downed today.
The valedictory function of the Science Meet was graced by Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar; Principal Scientist of CSIR-NEIST, Lamphel Dr H Birkumar Singh and Director of MASTEC Th Surendra Singh as the chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively.
A total of 51 Science Models were presented during the meet by participating students across the State.
Spot painting competition, science model competition, quiz competition and declamation contest were the main highlights of the five-day science meet.
Significantly, Elangbam Serena and Pebam Rosy Chanu of Maria Montessori, Imphal won the first prize in the Science Model Competition while the second prize was snatched by Selina Moirangthem and Aingbi Kakchingtabam of Mega Manipur Public School.
Sanasam Lalngamba and Sanasam Malemnganba of JNV Thoubal bagged the third prize.
In the sub-junior category of the spot painting competition, Laiphrakpam Roshni of Regular English School, Kwakeithel; Yambem Ngongo Singh of Maria Montessori School and Abraham Nongthombam of Christ Jyoti School were declared the first, second and third positions winner respectively.
Ksh Gopinath Singh of Bhaktavedanta Institute Mission Higher Secondary School; Yumnam Rahul Singh of Wangkhei HS and Oshila Konsam of St George's School, Wangkhei were adjudged the first, second and third positions winner respectively in the junior category of the painting competition.
In the senior category of the competition, Asem Indrajit Singh of Brilliant Public School, Samurou won the first prize while Anand Naoroibam of EK Hr Sec School, Imphal and Chingakham Barun Singh of Bhaktavedanta Institute Mission Hr Sec School bagged the second and third prizes respectively.
In the quiz competition, Wangjam Ashokumar Meetei and Mayengbam John Meetei of Herbert School, Changangei secured the first position while Sonia Naorem and Keisham Tampha Ibema of the same school finished second.
Sohaib Rahman and Moirangthem Niteshkumar of the same school came third.
Nira Sinam of Nirmalabus HS, Huidrom Nganthoi of Tiny Tot's Unique School and Konthongbam Desika Hillary of Mother's Pride Academy, Bishnupur won the fist, second third positions in the Declamation Contest.
The Best Guide was won by Bonie Chanu Thoidingjam of Maria Montessori while the Best Appreciation award was presented to A Asharani Devi of Herbert School.
