Assam Rifles celebrates 73rd Army Day

To mark the celebration of Army Day, an awareness campaign about Indian Army was organised by Thinghat Battalion of Churachandpur Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) at Bualkot and Khuga in Churchandpur.
An awareness lecture to join Indian Army was conducted on the occasion, said PRO, IGAR.
Over 100 people attended the event including dignitaries of the local areas.
The event aims to spread awareness regarding various methods to join Indian Army and Assam Rifles.
Subsequently, an awareness run was also organised on the occasion of 73rd Army Day at Behiang and Muallam in Churchandpur district.
The villagers were made aware of the physical training provided by the battalion in the past which assisted in recruitment of young boys and girls in Armed Forces.
In addition, a friendly volleyball match was organised at Songdoh and Songdoi in Singngat Sub-District of Churchandpur.
Locals from Songdoh, Songdoi and Enpum village participated in the event.
Likewise, Moltuk Battalion of Pallel Sector Assam Rifles under HQ IGAR (South) marked the Army Day celebration with a variety of events for the locals today.
The programme began with a weapon display for the locals in and around Battalion Headquarter Moltuk and Khengjoy COB.
To further stoke the nationalistic feeling and portray the undying bravery, gallantry and pride of the Indian Army, the Battalion organised screening of short movies on valour and sacrifices of Indian Army.
The Battalion also took this opportunity to felicitate local youths who were trained by the Battalion for recruitment in the Army and who have been finally selected to don the glorious uniform.
Parents of the recruited youth felt proud and thanked the battalion for their help.
