Imphal, December 14 2016:
A new office of BJP Nungba Mandal ST Morcha was opened today at Noney which was followed by a political conference.
Among others, the inaugural function cum political conference was attended by BJP Manipur ST Morcha president Ading Gonmei, BJP Manipur Pradesh vice-president Adim Pamei, former MLA Salam Ibohal and State ST Morcha vice-presidents Ningreigngam Kashung, Thangjamang Haokip and Benjamin Mate.
Adim Pamei said that Nungba AC is represented in the State Assembly by the incumbent Deputy Chief Minister who also held the post of MPCC president for many years.
"At one point of time, I worked for the Congress leaders (Deputy CM).
But today he is old and his time is over.
I'm contesting the forthcoming election to convey him a message that it's time for him to retire from politics", Adim said.
Rampant corruption marked the past 15 years of Congress rule in the State and there was no sign of development in Nungba AC.
He went on to claim that BJP supporters and workers have been working collectively with a single mind in Nungba AC.
"Michael Dangmei and Adim myself have been working together in close coordination even though both of us have been seeking BJP ticket.
This is a testimony of BJP members' and supporters' unity", Adim said.
Adim Pamei said that he would support Michael if he (Michael) gets party ticket and he (Adim) expected same response from Michael if he is given party ticket.
Michael Dangmei said that Manipur's state of development was rather disappointing even though it had been 69 years since India achieved independence.
Congress was in power both at the Centra and the State for far greater length of these years.
Now the country has seen dramatic changes since the BJP Government led by Prime Minister Narendra came to power.
In line with the sweeping changes seen across the country, BJP will form Government in Manipur too after the 11th State Assembly election.
There is neither dissension nor rift inside BJP.
All the members and supporters would support those men and women who are given party tickets, Michael said.
