Imphal, July 13 2016: North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Ministry of Culture, Government of India conducted an orientation programme for district cultural officers of Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya at Shilpgram, Guwahati today.

The same programme for Manipur andNagaland will be announced.

The main objective of the orientation programme was to draw a roadmap for identification and registration of artistes in their respective States with NEZCC, with an aim to groom and promote them for wider excellence and appreciation.

The Director of NEZCC mentioned that PB Acharya, Governor of Assam and Nagaland and Chairperson of NEZCC, have been passionately persuading to identify and register all artistes in the entire North Eastern Region, to ensure that their traditions and values are upheld, and likewise, groomed and promoted.
