World Heart Day observed; National Deworming Day launched

The District Administration Kakching in collaboration with District Health Society organised World Heart Day at Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AAM), Public Health Centre, Serou, Kakching district.
The programme was attended by Rohit Anand (IAS), Deputy Commissioner, Kakching District as the chief guest, Dr Thaodem Rajen Singh, Chief Medical Officer/DMD DHS Kakching as president, Dr Takhellambam Jullon Singh, DNO, NPNCD DHS Kakching and Kshetrimayum Gourababu Singh as guests of honour.
On the sidelines of the event, the first round of the District-Level National Deworming Day was also launched today.
Deworming tablets were administered to children as a part of the function.
Children aged between 1-2 years were administered one tablet of Albendazole 200 mg, while those between 2-19 years were given one tablet of Albendazole 400 mg.
National Deworming Day (NDD) is observed to combat parasitic worm infections, particularly soil-transmitted helminths (STH) among children and adolescents.
Launched in 2015 by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the initiative aims to improve children's health, nutritional status, and cognitive development.
