Shehrii appointed new Chairman of NSCN-K Shepoumaramth

Senapati, January 13 2015: A statement issued by the NSCN-K Shepoumaramth region said that Shehrii has been appointed as the new chairman of NSCN-K Shepoumaramth region, reports The Hornbill Express.

The statement said that NSCN-K president, SS Khaplang had given a direction to elect a new chairman after reviewing the problems between Sanii and Hriipunii of NSCN-K Shepoumaramth region.

As per the direction of the president and under the leadership of S Pao, CCM MIP, the election was conducted on January 9 wherein Shehrii and Reivah were elected as the new chairman and secretary for the year of 2015 .

The statement urged all the public leaders, well wishers and the people to co-operate with the newly elected leaders.

The statement also condemned the Karong incident where an innocent youth was shot by an NSCN-IM captain.

Such crimes cannot be permitted it said and added and that the authority concerned must deliver justice to the victim by penalising the accused.

In the statement, the new chairman cautioned the public not to co-operate with persons or groups involved in any activities or business in the name of a Nation/freedom struggle that might disturb peace and harmony of the public.

Chairman Shehrii also asserted that the Naga's rights can vanish.

He called upon all the right thinking Nagas to come to the right platform for justice and for the betterment of Naga's future.
