'Skill upgradation training on handloom weaving' launched

Bishnupur, September 12 2021:
Skill upgradation training on handloom weaving under 'Samarth Scheme' organised by Weavers' Service Centre, Imphal was launched on Sunday at Keibul Makha Leikai, Bishnupur District.
The 45-days long training programme was sponsored by the Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.
It was participated by 20 weavers from the Keibul area.

The inaugural function was attended by M Asnikumar Singh, chairman Manipur Development Society (MDS) & State spokesperson BJP Manipur Pradesh; O Minoda Devi, Project Manager H/L District Handlooms & Textiles, Bishnupur; O Ibojao Singh, member Kha Thinungei Zilla Parishad; L Dhaneshwar, Pradhan, Moirangkhunou GP; N Ramananda, Pradhan, Kha Thinungei GP and Hari Kanta Baro, Head of Office, Weavers' Service Centre as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, HK Baro stated that the training programme would be conducted in 300 hours across 45 days.
He mentioned that during the programme two trainers would instruct the participants on various weaving methods and urged the weavers to register themselves in order to receive handloom tags.
