Imphal, December 11 2024: A delegation of women representatives of Meitei civil organisations based in Delhi met with the Chairperson of the National Commission for Women (NCW) urging for the Commission's intervention to bring justice for victims of November 11 Jakuradhor massacre.

The delegation emphasised the brutality of the massacre, shedding light on the vulnerability of women and children in the region, and urged the NCW to take immediate action.

They appealed for a thorough investigation to ensure justice for the victims, stronger measures to safeguard women and children in Manipur and National-level attention to address the ongoing violence and violations of human rights in the region.

Notably, on November 11, Kuki militants abducted and killed six women and children in Jiribam.
