Cultural exchange programme held at Noney

Imphal, June 11 2011:
Troops of 10 Assam Rifles under the aegis of the Loktak Brigade today organized a cultural exchange programme at its battalion headquarters at Noney.
The programme was being organized to bring to bring all together, understand each other, and accept each other as one and to work together for peace and development.
Students of different communities from various parts of the state took part in the programme and presented traditional dance as part of the programme.
The programme was one of the four programme planned to be held during this current month June at places under the jurisdiction of the battalion.
A total of 60 boys and girls of aged ranging from 15 to 23 participated in the programme which was witnessed by around 500 villagers of Noney area and Tupul.
Apart from traditional dance items presented by the students, Punjabi harvest dance by troops of 18 Sikh Regiment.
Lezim, a Marathi folk dance by 16 Maratha Li and Khukhri dance by 4/8 GR were also showcased.
Upadhuay, commanding officer of BRFT, colonel Ajay Sharma of 10 AR and officers of the battalion were among other who attended the programme.
