21 held in anti-drug drive at Khumidok

Volunteers of Khumidok Sorok Mapal Village Anti Drug Committee has pulled up 21 persons including four women for selling and consuming drug and heroin (number 4) in the last two days.
The seized drugs were produced before the media during a press conference held at the office of the committee today afternoon.
Speaking at the press conference, committee secretary Md Amu said that they got a specific information about selling of illegal drugs and heroin in a house at Kairang Chingya under Heingang police station in Imphal East district.
After taking permission from the local club, a mobile team of the committee carried out a drive at the locality.
They detained an auto driver with 2 gm of heroin worth Rs 3600 in the local market.
He has been identified as Md Ajmer (28) s/o Salem of Kairang Chingya and the registration number of his auto is MN01Q-0734 .
They also detained some other persons identified as Kadiya (30) w/o Shiraj of Kairang Chingya, Ishram Adbul Halem of Hatta, Rasida (42) w/o Abdul of Mayang Imphal and Hajira (60) w/o Salou.
40 Nitrogen 10 tablets, 428 Spasmo Proxyvon capsules and one Dendrite were seized from their possession.
The secretary said that they have been keeping strict vigil at Khomidok area to prevent sale and abuse of drugs.
In similar drives, 16 persons were detained in the past two days, he added.
All the detained persons were handed over to their respective families after giving the advice of not to indulge in such illegal activities in future.
