Students rally to demand lecturer in Tamenglong

Tamenglong, November 10 2011:
The Students' Welfare Committee of Tamenglong Higher Secondary School today staged a silent rally with placards demanding lecturers in their school today and submitted a memorandum to Education Minister, Government of Manipur, through Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong.
The student rallyists demanded two full time lecturers, two IV grade employees and necessary furniture in the school.
The rallyists also demand immediate release of salary of part time lecturers and contract basis lecturers, who are undergoing cease work strike, to resume normal classes.
The memo also set November 20 as deadline for meeting these demands and warned of agitation in case of failure.
The memorandum signed by Winilung Abonmai, general secretary of Student's Welfare Committee Tamenglong Higher Secondary School pointed out that the ongoing cease work strike of the part time lecturers has severely affected normal classes in a school like Tamenglong Higher Secondary School where there the problem of inadequate teachers.
The memo also stated that there is only one IV grade in the school and the teachers and students are facing inconvenience to run regular classes.
