Gold for Arambam Bobby, Bronze for Yumnam Momota at WBPF 2012

Retaining his title for the third time in a row, Manipuri body-builder Arambam Bobby Singh has won gold medal in the 75 Kg Category competition of the ongoing Mr World contest at Bangkok, Thailand.
The competition was held in the evening today.
A native of Lilong Chajing Mairenkhong Leikai under Imphal West district, Bobby won the first gold medal in the 2nd Body Building and Physique Sports Federation (WBPF) Men's World Body Building Championship held in Varanasi from October 27 to November 1 in 2010 in the 75 kg category, thus bringing home for India the second Mr World title after a gap of 22 years.
He lived up to his title winning the second gold medal in the 3rdWBPF World Body Building Championship held in the city of Malaca from November 8 to November 14, 2011, in the same weight category.

Coming from a humble background, Bobby is the fifth of the six siblings of Late Arambam Ibomcha and Arambam ongbi Dashumati Devi.
He lost his father at a young age and was brought up by his mother single-handedly along with other siblings.
During his formative phase he had to endure many hardships � lack of proper diet, monetary constraint and supporting the family in their daily struggle for existence.
Constrained by multiple factors he could pursue his education up to matriculation only.

In the women's fitness category of the same contest, Yumnam Ongbi Mamota clinched the bronze medal in below 50 kg category.
Mamota is the wife of Barun Yumnam of Sagolband Thingom Leikai, Imphal, who himself is also a body builder.
Besides Mamota, K Robita, another Manipuri woman also participated in the women's fitness competition in above 50 kg category, but she had to be contended in 5th position. Yesterday, Khundrakpam Pradipkumar, the HIV positive body builder from Manipur, won bronze medal in the 65 kg category of the competition.
