KIL, NIMPAL, AMUCO join condemnation of Mayang Imphal, CCpur incidents

Kanglei Ima Lup (KIL) has condemned the death of the 14 year old girls from Mayang Imphal due to suspected sexual assault.
The girl who was allegedly called out by her boyfriend on September 1 night and was found in unconscious state the next day before she breathed her last on September 3 at RIMS.
Denouncing such inhuman acts, that too amid the COVID-19 crisis, KIL demanded stringent punishment to all involved in the crime.
There should be a fair and speedy trial, it said while adding that protests may erupt in case the issue is settled in a biased manner and perpetrators are not punished.
On the other, the Nongchup Imphal Palem Ima Apunba Lup (NIMPAL) also strongly condemned the incident and demanded befitting punishment to the culprits.
AMUCO (All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation) also strongly condemned the incidents at Mayang Imphal and Churachandpur and appealed for stringent punishment to the culprits.
Identifying drug abuse as one of the causes of crimes in the State, it also urged all to stand against drug abuse and strengthen the State's war against drugs.
Meanwhile, KIL also vehemently condemned the killing of an ATM cash replenishment staff in Churachandpur by some robbers a few days back.
Opposing the move of holding by-election when there is a rapid rise in the COVID-19 cases and every sector is hit hard due to the pandemic, KIL also appealed State Lawmakers not to indulge in power politics when the State is going through a critical phase.
